Ode to Fall

This is where I would write a lovely poem about the beauties of crisp, colorful fall leaves, a dusting of snow on the mountains, and the wonders of a fresh honeycrisp apple... That is if I had a poetic bone in my body. Which I definitely do not. So, instead I'll post a picture of the view from the back porch last week and an apple we bought today. These are a few of the things that make the transition from colorful fall to winter bearable.

.
If you have never had a fresh honeycrisp apple you are missing out. I like a good gala, a bodacious braeburn, and the fruity fuji. But once I discovered the wonder if the honeycrisp they all pale in comparison. The sad thing is they are fairly fragile and they won't last like the nasty, tasteless Delicious. But when they are available, ahhhhh... well, like I said, I'm no poet so you'll have to try one and write your own dang poem.

Fall is cool.
It's when we start school.
The leaves fall down.
The kids are clowns.
It gets really cold.
And I just get old.
Hee hee poet I am not.
But that's all I've got.

Wallymack makes me laugh! Now I feel like a loser for not trying a poem.

I'll do a Haiku

A vague memory flickers
Bright colors crisp air
Oh yeah that used to be fall.

On that sad note. I am not aware of the honeycrisp, and feel somewhat cheated. My personal favorite is Cameo, but I'm totally open to a new sensation.

I don't think I have seen them down here.

I have to say the honeycrisp puts all others to shame. I like cameos too, but they don't have the snappy, crunch of the honeycrisp. I'll have to get one to you somehow Celiac.

I agree that the honeycrisp is in its own league...I like fugi, too. Looks like Wallymack took care of the poem...Celiac took the Haiku...that leaves me with a sonnet??? Just Kidding! You gals are so much fun to converse with in blogworld. Enjoy those apples while we've got'em fresh!

P.S. I love your hair..it is adorable! You look so bright and fresh...good move :)
