WooHoo!!! Tomorrow is the last official school day for the year! I have to muck out both my rooms, do a little tribute for a retiring art teacher and bring home some stuff to work on this summer (this year I REALLY HAVE to do it :0( I have a couple things going this week but they're mostly fun, a get together with some o the "gals" I used to work with at the junior high - most of whom are retired already, throw some flowers in the planters - now that the summer switch is finally flipped on, and get ready for Dom's visit next week. He'll be here for two weeks whilst his mom, Brianne is off doing her annual two week National Guard stint. I'm going to start doing the "outside walk" in the mornings now (woohoo again). I SOooo prefer being outside
rather than doing the treadmill indoors. But, at least I've been getting some exercise eh?
But, I'm rambling. I know, nothing new there... Last weekend we went up to the cabin.

Mom and dad were planning to go with us. But mom got downwind from a nasty, perfumed candle and wasn't up to going. So it was just the three of us off on a road trip. We were in the truck pulling the trailer with Chuck's 4 wheeler and "supplies". I rode in relative luxury in the back - seat, not truck bed. I spent most of the trip playing hand held Yahtzee - I got an all time personal best of 523. Ok, let's be honest, that's going to be a lifetime best. I can die happy now eh? I read, I did suduko, I snoozed, I occasionally listened in on the audio book - another amazing action packed adventure where the hero can do anything, like fall off a cliff and save himself with his fake leg prosthetic -no kidding. I KNOW! You're wishing you were there to get all the thrilling details! We arrived at the cabin midday on Saturday and proceeded to hit the to-do list.

While we were there we : put up a new, more fireproof wall by the stove , put in a drainage pipe in a bad spot on the road (Ok. So dad and Chuck did it. I took pictures and wandered around watching them work), put up some more metal on the "guest" cabin.

Added a new seat and some white wall board to the interior of the outhouse ( such luxury- did I mention the cabin is "rustic"? -).

Spent about 4 hours wandering around trying to find cell phone coverage (mostly me, never found any).

Cut and tacked down carpet , put down threshold between kitchen and bath , cleaned up some mice poo ( we hadn't had any sign of mice for over a year and a half - so I was disappointed to see evidence of them)...

Ok, I'm getting bored with this list, so I can imagine how "thrilling" it must be for all two of you who visit this blog. Anyway, lots of little chores undertaken and worked on. Chuck put the cabin up for sale over the winter. I personally don't really want it to sell.

It IS a long drive, but in a few years - ok, 5- we'll both be retiring and then we'll have all sorts of time to drive and hang out there to our hearts content.
If is does sell, I guess we'll cross that bridge then.
Soooo, Guess who came to visit yesterday?!?

Yep, Mr. Lincoln, with parents in tow.
He just turned 4 months and I can't remember a baby who loves to stand so much. He is crazy strong and will just arc his head up until you give in and pull him into standing position. Then he gets going on the jumpin and it's crazy time for sure.

Check out this sweet arm action dad.

He's growing faster than noxious weeds in spring and has a very round Charlie Brownish head. (No clue where he might have gotten that kind of noggin...)

Watch me blow a bubble.

Yeah, I'm thinking of going pro.

Look how far I can reach.

Yes. You may touch the royal hand.

We have to leave now... I give the royal raspberry.

I shall hypnotize you with my stare.

Ok. Just kidding.

Sounds, looks like you had a great time at your cabin. I'm sure dad loved it. One of these times when you go over that we you have to let me know so we can meet your there!!! I can't believe how big Lincoln has grown. What a cutie. Nothing wrong with a round-headed boy. I'm quite attached to mine.
Another fruitful trip to the wilds of north Idaho. I'm most happy for you that school is out!! Hurrahh!!!!

It's fun to see pictures of your cabin. It looks like a great get-away only the toilet is a bit uh rustic for my taste.
