Ok, So I had Soooo much fun yesterday! Yes, I went up in the cherry picker. No, the student I gave my camera to did not take a picture of me in it as asked. Though she did get some really sweet pics of her buddies. YES, I did get to use a megaphone complete with Wailing, Siren, and WeeOHHH sound options. Oh MY GOSH! I have to say I was out of control for a bit there. It was quite a deal to be strapped to the basket and ascend over a hundred feet in the air. And then direct students around and play with the sound buttons. I can see the allure of power - does this mean I have Hitler potential?
The students seemed to have a blast as well. It was a TON of work getting it organized but I do think it was a great success. The tv station was there as well as an online newspaper. There is a video interview, (complete with kids playing football in the background on it). I am going to try and do one of those link thingys so you can go and check it out if you have 5 minutes. Just click Here . (We'll see if that works eh?) And I just found the KPVI regular news station clip too it is Here
Then last night after we got home we watched a bit of Pushing Daisies (which I love, and if you know me I don't love too many shows - it's got a really different style to it.) we went to Drew and Alicia's for her party. I dug out the infamous leprechaun outfit, well as much of the outfit as I could find. I am missing one green stocking - so I had to go with black, and sans my original green bowler hat and walking stick. I didn't take time to iron it (watching Pushing Daisies you know). Then I neglected to take my camera, so I will have to get a pic from Drew.

After watching myself on the news and seeing myself on the video spot I've decided I need to do something a little less severe with my hair. I hate the thought, because I spend about as much time as I would like now. The thought of curling, styling etc. makes me want to barf. So, I don't know. I would let it just be down - but then I suffer the fear of spontaneous combustion from hot flashes. ... Yeah, I'm open to suggestions. And don't just say it's "fine" mom! I look like a rigid, ole school marm. And don't say "isn't that what you are?. Even if I AM, I don't want to particularily look like one... Yeah, well that's about all for now.
Oh, and I want to say that I spent a bunch of time on a response to Jenette's great post and it is now floating around somewhere in cyberspace or just completely deleted. I have NO idea how that could have happened. I'm not ever frazzeled or anything.

Hey mom. I was watching the news video, but I'm in the silent section of the library and it's not very exciting when I can't hear what's going on. Anyway, I was taking into consideration your hair comment and after seeing the video, I think maybe just some bangs would be nice. You don't want to cut off all your hair and get a perm and dye it light purple- you're not that old ;) But I'm with you on the hair issue. I was looking at myself in the mirror yesterday and noticing just how far I've let myself go. And I've been trying to figure out what kind of a hair style would look nice and require almost no effort, and the only thing I can think of are dreadlocks (but we've been over this before). Ok, I'm not helping much. But I think bangs would be good, but don't make them all curly and foofy- that means you're either stuck in the 80's or stuck in a po-dunk cowboy town. In fact, I just found a picture of some nice bangs I think could work for you maybe, and I'm going to e-mail it to you.
Vertigo! That is what would happen to me were I to go up in a contraption like that. I discovered that little recent head malfunction this spring going up the Space Needle with Spencers class. Sounds like it was fun for you and that is what matters. It would take too long with our internet to load anything video (try 10 minutes or more) so I will just have to imagine your moment of glory. (I will picture it with beautiful hair). So, no suggestions on the hair front. Although I do find that given our family head size (yours being the queen of all) that Kelsey's "less forhead" suggestion might be a good one. I find that when I wear headbands (which I do for running) that it is best not to look in the mirror (too much forehead-scary!)
I was able to open one of the video streams-although it didn't stream so well. I agree with Kelsey you need some bangs or something. Something softer, more feminine looking. Easy care usually means shorter though.
Karen, you're a star!! That sounds like so much fun. I think you sounded great on the clip, it was fun to watch. My take on the hair-I think everyone should be bald, then no one would have to worry about it and it wouldn't look funny because everyone would be that way.
You were sooo wired when I talked to you after that! It sounded like you had a blast. I'm glad after all that work. Mom and I saw your brief moment of fame on the news.
I would love to go up in that thing..... not sure if I would have Miste's vertigo.
Now the hair. I'm with Kelsey on avoiding the puffed up 80s bang. I'm the last to comment on the "severe hairdo" since it is much like mine. I, however have no pride (or is it no shame?)
Maybe angled bangs that are a bit longer? I'll try to find a picture, because I know that made no sense.
Most of all I'm with Amy. Everyone bald!! That would sure help my hotflashes.
hey I don't mind you checking out my blog.. I read yours... Thanks for the nice comment about me, even if you don't know me, that makes me feel good about myself. Also thanks for the comment about my little guy Hunter.. He was beutiful eyes and I am hoping they stay that way. He has the same eye color of my husband.
Wow...now I can say I knew Karen way back when before she was a famous pumpkin thrower :) That looked like so much fun!! I am freaked out of heights so I probably would have thrown up on everyone from up there (nice visual I know :)) As for the hair...I honestly have never found a hairdo I like for myself so I shouldn't give other people advice. I think your hair looks good pulled up and all down and flowing. I don't think you should decide to change your hair from the one video you posted. But.. if you are ready for a change the angled bangs might be fun. I know Chuck won't want you to cut your hair but if you are ready for a change I think you should do it!
