Is this a cute little girl or what? I know I'm sounding like the stereotypical grandma and I don't even care! Kelsey went to class and after she left Leyla was awake for a little bit so I put her in a little dress that Kelsey wore as a baby. It is actually one that Mrs. A made, so it also has a lot of sentimental meaning for me too.
The dress also reminds me of all the knitted and crocheted outfits women made while I was in Chile. You would see women out standing by their front gates talking and knitting, or waiting for the bus and crocheting. And we're not talking simple little patterns either. They were amazing. All the babies looked amazing if for no other reason than they were dressed so well. Often it was in stark contrast to their parents and siblings who were poor and had shabby clothes. But the babies looked fantastic. I think it was because yarn was so cheap and all it took was the labor on the women's part.
I like this last photo because it shows some of the mixed emotions Chloe must be dealing with and also you can see one of Leyla's dimples. Not to mention the size differences. Not unlike the Wales photo's with Roberta used for perspective purposes.

Maybe I'm a prejudiced Auntie (well great auntie but that makes me sound old) but they are sweet babies. It's amazing how quickly they go from little tiny things like Leyla to almost grown-up (like Tucker). They are beautiful little angels!
I don't think you are a biased grandma in this case. (although if they WERE homely it would be hard to say much) Regardless, those are some beautiful kids. I love that first close up of Leyla asleep. And Mrs A's dress is beautiful. How cool that you still have it.
Soak it up while you can!
