Speedy Delivery...

So, I talked to Kelsey last night at 6:30 her time and she was in the "beginning" stages of labor at the hospital (after having endured a traumatic time trying to find someone to take Chloe and get to the hospital). Chuck and I were headed to town for dinner. So, after we finished eating I called to see how she was doing. The nurse answered and I asked if she had had her epidural yet - I was worried that being by herself she wouldn't get one. She assured me that she had gotten it and turned the phone over to Kelsey. I said "So, you got your epidural that's good" She said "Yeah, I guess". I said didn't it take? She said "Well, I've got a baby here." Then I realized I could hear baby noises in the background. So, yeah, she had Leyla Kae only a half an hour after I talked to her at 6:30. The doctor barely even made it there and they were giving her the epidural as Leyla was born. Sheesh! She weighed in at 6Lbs. 2oz, and is 19 inches long. Kelsey says she looks like Chloe only with a little less hair. Kelsey had a sleepless night because Leyla wanted to nurse every hour. They don't come and take the babies like they did when I worked in the nursery. So, she is pretty tired. She hadn't decided whether or not to go home today or tomorrow when I last talked to her.
Miguel is on his way. I'm glad as she will have someone there with her until I get there next Friday night. So, Miss Leyla waited until Kelsey finished her last test and apparently decided that was about enough time inside and spent no time at all getting out into the big wide world.
Can't wait to see mom and baby!!!!

How exciting! Another little grandbaby for you and it sounds like it was a quick and easy(?) delivery. Doesn't sound like they got the epidural in time--that's definitely a bummer. Can't wait to see pix of the new little one!
