That I have dropped off the face of the earth.
But no.
Just Oh...
SIX MONTHS behind.
I am going to just throw on a bunch of photos from the last couple of days in Guatamala.
The challenge is to limit it to a "few".
Antigua Guatemala
(Spanish pronunciation: [anˈtiɣwa ɣwateˈmala]) (commonly referred to as just Antigua or la Antigua) is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala famous for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque influenced architecture as well as a number of spectacular ruins of colonial churches. It served as the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Yeah...
So I'm going to start with this billboard....

Translation - Enjoy Life- savoring every moment'
Virginia Style Cooked ham
The quality of good.
(more or less translated)
Cause you can't enjoy life without a good piece of ham right?
They really did have some fun advertisements there.
Here are a sampling of a "few" of the flowers we saw...
Vendors in traditional clothing.
And they are VERY persuasive!
Antigua is all about the old edifices.
There are a TON of old churches in varying states of repair.
We went on a tour of an old convent.
These arches led to little rooms about 8 X6 foot where the nuns slept.
This was where they laid them to rest when they passed.
Much bigger than their digs in life.
The convent was lovely and it is a popular spot
for wedding and special occasion photo shoots.
Here's a family there for their daughter's quincenera celebration.
Here are just a few of the old churches and buildings
Doris and I saw as we wandered around Antigua.
This is a famous archway on one of the main streets.
This woman was weaving in a little shop just past the archway.
They can set up and take down quickly and work just about anywhere.
Once it's woven it's turned over to one of the vendors.
Because there are so many old buildings
there were also a lot of cool old door knockers.
Here's a sampling of a few of my favorites.
Antigua was an interesting place with colorful people who
are passing along their heritage from one generation to the next.

I wish more people dressed like these beautiful women.
Loved seeing all of this... better late as they say.
Jealous of the door knockers. How cool is that. We should do a door knockers world tour.
