Drum roll please.............

MY FIRST EVER SUPER MACRO PICTURE!!!!

I'm SOoooo excited!!! Here's the crummy part. I have had the potential to take super macro shots for YEARS! But every time I tried to even take a macro picture I couldn't do it. I had mentioned to Celiac that I coveted her supermacro capabilities with her camera. And I asked her if she knew of any other point and shoot cannon cameras that had that option. So today she called to tell me about one and upon further investigation she also discovered that the camera I use (technically not mine, but the schools') also has the capability. After some digging on her part -looking up help sites, downloading the manual, she walked me through how to get to that actual picture taking mode! I could spend a lot of time bemoaning all the fantastic shots I "could" have taken over the years, but I choose to be THRILLED that I now have the option to take those kinds of photos. So.... look out! I'm sure there are many close up pics that will be coming.
I'm going to post a few more here of those I took in macro and super macro.... Because I CAN!!!

Macro mode

Super Macro. BIG difference eh?!?
"Black Hollyhock" It's actually dark burgundy, but the original tag said "black".

Purple fringed petunia. Should be lumpy purple petunia.

Can you guess what this is?!?

In England they call them "wellies". It's the top of my green"milkin" or Muckin boots.
Cool pattern though eh?

Well that's enough for now.

THANK YOU Celiac! You ARE my hero!!!

Oh ya! Super Macro rocks. I'm jealous yours is so easy to get to versus my 19 clicks.
I think you can get even closer..but be sure not to damage your lens. (:
