Spring..?

There have been at least 4 separate occasions (possibly more) this year where I have "thought" it was actually going to be spring. - The last two days were NOT one of those.
I will readily admit that I AM ready for some warmer weather. And even though I have been assured that our water table is still well below "normal" levels, I am tired of all the precipitation.
Yes.
I KNOW I live in Idaho and that this is "normal".
That doesn't alter the fact that I would like to be able to sit in my living room without the heater blasting, wrapped in a furry blanket with thick wool socks on.

There ARE "signs" of spring all around.

The creek is running high and fast.

Moose has caught 6 rodents - that we've seen.
Probably more that he's gotten while we weren't around to praise him.

We have had pussy willows,

a bumper crop of dandelions.

and some great daffodils.

I even went so far as to spring clean the junk under the kitchen sink!
(Desperate measures indeed!)

But, here I sit, freezing as I type (I'm too cheap/stubborn to turn the heater on) knowing that this morning there was new snow bowing down the heads of the daffodils and that there is every chance that there is more cold weather to come.

Then I remembered that this morning as I sat admiring the newly grouted tile, contemplating the injustice of it all - I noticed this poor guy not two feet from my feet. Apparently he ate something he shouldn't have.

Things could be much worse.

I can't imagine it being too cold for you since you always seem to have your air conditioning on in your room. ;-) Spring came way early this year, but it sure was chilly all through April. Love all the rodent pix!

Oh it MUST be spring because there was green by that water!

Every year I manage to bring the warm weather with me, so have faith it will arrive in two short weeks at the latest.

Love the Moose shot.. it is a classic.

Yeah - the dead rodent theme doesn't exactly inspire warm and cuddly feelings - but then I haven't been feeling realy warm and cuddly of late...
I was just thrilled he wasn't alive and scampering across the floor - or my foot!
And YES! It's still crazy cold and the wind was gusting up to 62 mph on the way to work this morning.
But- the sun IS out and things are turning green because of all the moisture...
So, I repeat - things could be much worse :0)
