So we went mattress shopping and purchased something that cost about the same as a small island. We had to wait 2 weeks for the mattress and new headboard/dresser combo to arrive. I had to keep reminding myself that it has a 20 year guarantee, it will help with all those aches and pains that come with advancing years, that you spend up to a third of your life in bed, etc. During that waiting time I enjoyed the free $100 pillows they "gave" us. Now that the bed has arrived and I've had the chance to sleep, watch Olympics and read in said island of comfort I've decided to stop worrying and get some comfortable sleep.

In order to accommodate the new oasis in our "shortened" bedroom (from the remodel a couple years ago) we decided to move the dresser into the closet - which caused a universal shifting of clothing and "stuff", which then meant finding a different arrangement for the TV . It was a little like the Cat in the Hat where the mess gets moved from one room to another in the chain reaction variety. I have "mostly" got things back from the exploded room category now. How do I manage to accumulate so much stuff?
Anyway, we have the new mattress, new bedroom set, new flat screen mounted on the wall and payments similar to the gross National debt.
Ahhh...it's the American dream all right.
By the way Chuck picked out the new bedspread and pillows all by himself.
He did a good job, eh?

I have to say I'm jealous of the small island bed. It was mighty comfy watching the Olympics with you guys.
Chuck did a superb job on the bedspread. It is manly and yet beautiful. (That is hard to do)
I need me a bed like that! I really do like the bed spread, Chuck can go shopping for me anytime.
Congratulations on the purchase of your island!!! I bought a memory foam mattress cover back in the fall and there is something to be said for investing in your sleep...good for you! Hope your getting some good rest. As for Chuck's bedspread shopping...FABULOUS!
Wow, he did a really good job with the bedding! I love it! I want it.
And you totally deserve a new bed. You've had that same headboard since I was... I dunno... 5? Nearly 20 years. Good for you.
It IS a comfy bed as I know from the "spooning" escapade with Spencer & Celiac while we watched Apolo Ohno. It is a nice bed for sure and you deserve it!
