Chances are Good

So Miste mentioned that she got a free book on Goodreads. This morning I was struck by the name of one of the authors for a free give away - Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. Is it just me, or does that name sound totally made up? I'm sure it's really common in her land of origin (India?) like John Doe, or Mary Smith. But WOW! (See Celiac your name could have been MUCH more exotic!) Anyway, when I entered to win a free copy of her soon to be released book I noticed that there were 2 free copies and 792 people who had entered. Those are much better odds than winning the lottery! All right. I admit it. I'm avoiding starting on my 300 item list of things to do today...
And by the way Happy Birthday to Tyson (yesterday)!!! I had a post about him on my list of things to do yesterday and you can see how far that got. I DID however get my scanner cord fixed so I can now scan photos to my hearts content. It involved 2 trips to radio shack, cord cutting, splicing and much consternation on the part of the employee of said business establishment. That's one of the reasons my list is so long. Seems like each thing that should take a few moments turns into a 45 minute time sucker. Aww well. Guess I'll go start on item number one.

Yeah, my name doesn't seem to unique in the light of Miss Divakaruni.

Any last name with Diva as part of it seems like a strong omen.

Good luck!!

The book I got had 200 copies so that's how I ended up getting one. I have entered a bunch of others but have yet to get another. Most of them only have one or two copies.
Aren't we all guilty of procrastinating when we are bloggin instead of other things.
