For whatever reason, the weather, my aching neck, school issues, the alignment of the stars...I have been in a bit of a "funk' for awhile. Tired, lethargic, all around blah. So, I guess Chuck felt compelled to take matters into his own hands and yesterday got online and booked a getaway. I have spring break the last week of March and we're going to CANCUN! We'll go on Tuesday and come back on Saturday in time for Lincoln's blessing on Sunday and then back to school on Monday. We're going to go see Chichen Itza. Mayan ruins are one of the things on my "bucket List". It will be the first "vacation" that Chuck and I have taken since he left for Iraq which was in 2004. Not that Chuck hasn't wanted to do stuff. I just keep taking off on my own :0) whether it's babies, kids or once in a lifetime trips to Italy... Anyway, the timing for this trip is wonderful and I know it's touristy and I don't care.

Hey that is totally exciting for you. I know you will have a blast. So nice of Chuck to give you something that doesn't involve carrying a backpack :-) Although I guess you could carry one around the Mayan ruins just to show that you can! Have a blast!!

I'm jealous of what you will see.. Chichen Itza or Palenque have been on my list for a while too.
Not jealous of the sweat fest that may ensue. Of course I'm thinking of my own hot flashes!

Seems everyone I know is headed to Cancun!!! Except me:( I will have to enjoy it vicariously through everyone else. Enjoy...that is super!
Good for you. My in-laws jus came home from there and they loved it. They kept saying over and over how we need to go "your whole family would love it" I wish. have fun.
