Here we have the results of 27, yes, 27 dump truck loads of dirt and rock. We started getting the dirt in August and got the last of it delivered last week. We have this crazy ole guy (well, he's probably my age, lives in Inkom and is a bit wacky - so does that make him Inkom Crazy Man?!?) Anyway, he has been finding fill dirt for us and getting it up to our place to fill in the area we wanted for a turn around. We've had two different guys do some of the tractor and cat work and now it's done. The last guy, Andy was amazing! He's young and he was so fast and efficient. It was fascinating to watch him go. It was like he was some kind of cake decorator but instead of frosting he was moving dirt and rock. It looks really different and it will take a while for it all to settle but I think it will be pretty nice to have the option to turn around instead of backing out all the time.
These are a few of the turkeys that have been hanging around the neighborhood. This pic is a few of them at the entrance to our driveway. They like to scratch around in the dirt down by the raspberries and chill under the old lean to part of where the chicken coop used to be. It's kind of cool to see them. Somebody told us not to encourage them to hang around because they will try to hang out in the trees and will break the branches. I like to see em strutting though. The way they move reminds me of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. On another wild life note - Chuck just dealt with our 7th skunk of the season.
Good times. So, here's a couple of pics of the Art Walk wall with a sort of close up of the travel tin. The opening went well. I guess I AM clueless because there IS a sty thing on that eye.
The Sun Valley conference was actually a lot of fun. I got a couple of new lesson ideas and really enjoyed seeing some people that I only get to see once a year. Plus the weather was GORGEOUS! Sun Valley in fall - dreamy. The weird thing is I didn't even actually take any pictures of it?!? What's up with that? I guess I was just enjoying it...
I did get a picture of a Debra Butterfield horse sculpture that is in some person's yard up Baldy road. It "looks" like it's made of wood, but is actually cast metal.
So, here's the view out the back and front from about an hour ago. See the skiff of snow on the tip of the one?!? We've had a lot of rain the last two days and the sky and air are so clean and fresh. I LOVE IT!

The little turn around looks like a long road in the pictures! How nice that will be for you in winter.
That skiff of snow looks mighty nice from where I'm sitting.
Glad the conference was fun too. Now you can set about making more of your own creations.
Beautiful view out the window. Loved the turkeys. I think they would be kind of cool to have around. The turnaround will be great for you! We've had a bit of rain lately which is a nice change (hard to believe for Seattle). I may not be saying that about rain in a month or two.
You've been busy...as always :) I love the turkeys...how fun! Congrats on the turn around...I've been trying to get my parents to create one at their place because we always have to back out while trying to miss the basketball stand...they won't do it???? Enjoy that this winter! Looks like your projects both turned out nicely....creative....guess that's why you're the art teacher :)
I love your travel tin. Good luck with your projects. You are a busy lady.
