Fall Color

Ahhh...it's officially fall! My favorite season of the year. I love the cooler air, the fresh fruits and veggies, the colors as they change. It's a time to reflect on all the fun stuff that's happened in the year so far and savor the time before the temperature really starts to dip. I'm not doing anything really dramatic like canning peaches, or corn or...well anything. But I definitely admire those who do and sure do love it when I get the opportunity to partake of their labors. I'm sure glad I live in a place where there are definite changes to the seasons. (The picture is one of our sumacks just off the back porch - I love the bright colors they get when it starts to get cooler).
On another note, I got to go down and help Tyson and Angel move to a new apartment. It was actually a lot of fun. We went to the school carnival where Angel works on Friday night and got to see scads of kids running around with neon striped air, scarfing down pink cotton candy, cupcakes and popcorn. It was fun to hear the kids say "Oh, that's Mrs. Holmes" and see them come up and talk to her. It's very evident that she is well liked and respected. We managed to move on Saturday with only a "few" raindrops on one load of stuff. The clouds actually kept things cooler which was nice. I'm glad I was able to go down and help.
Other news: Miss Leyla turned a year old yesterday! It's amazing to me how quickly the time has gone. Check out Kelsey's site to see the pics. And yes, her infection and fever seem to be under control. What a stressful couple of weeks she's had with infections, hurricanes, school, oh and two little munchkins, lovable, but high drama.
Jaron and Jenette are doing well. Or at least that's what they tell me. Jenette has been having some contractions and could go into labor anytime. How exciting is that?!?
Chuck's just getting over a nasty cold he caught from a guy at work. As for me, I'm "almost" caught up to where I'm supposed to be the first week of school. Yeah baby. Life is good.

Fall is my favorite season as well. There's just something about the thought of summer being over that is such a relief to me! The weather and colors are a huge plus too. Glad to hear your family is doing well!

I admit, I do miss fall. It just doesn't happen here.

Fall is great! I didn't know Jenette was so far along. Wow, another grand baby to add to the bunch. Are they going to move closer anytime soon or stay where they're at?

Oh yeah... fall... I remember that.
If ONLY! I actually used to get depressed in the fall, because it meant winter was coming...now I can't wait for the end of October and blistering temps to stop. I have a whole new appreciation for the fall.
Always too late to enjoy what I have.

The picture is pretty. Fall is our favorite season in MI, we love to see all leaves turn red / yellow and the cool air in the morning, but it's no fun to rag the leaves that seemed to gather in our yard from the whole neighborhood and then have to shovel snow later on. Enjoy the Fall now.
