Let it Snow!

So, for the last couple of weeks the allmighty weathermen have been predicting all sorts of snow. And everyone in surrounding areas have been getting pasted. All the school districts in the SE part of Idaho were closed - except for ours! We, on the other hand have been getting just enough to shovel and make a dirty mess on the floor. Well, last night it actually did start to lay down some decent snow. We woke up to about 6 inches in front. Chuck was going to try and take the Echo to his early morning meetings. I didn't have a good feeling about that, so I got up and drove him in the Subaru. The snow got less as we got closer to McCammon, which is just the reverse of what it normally is. I dropped him off and came home to get ready for church. In the meantime I got a call saying church had been canceled due to the snow. So, I called to find out. Yes, it had been canceled in Inkom, but McCammon still had the go ahead. Go figure. We haven't had a snow day in our school district for 7 years and the one day I "could" have had a snow day for church - I'm going to the wrong ward! Actually, I really didn't mind. It's pretty cool to drive around in the pristine snow with it's muted sounds and pretty weight bowing down the vegetation. I guess I should qualify that, as long as I don't get stuck! The little Subaru drove quite nicely and we made it to chruch and back without mishap. Chuck is currently in big boy toy heaven, using the snowblower to tidy things up out front. We now have a good solid 10 inches of new snow and it' s still putting a little down. I'm not going to get my hopes up for a snow day tomorrow. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than let down.
So, does the fact that I'm reporting about the weather make me even more entrenched in the "old person" role? Or is it just a reflection on the lack of excitement in my life? Hmmm... Did I report that Chuck branched out and made some Colby cheese yesterday? Ok. I can see that there is no doubt about the old person status. Snow reports and Cheese making. Not exactly the standard talk of hip folk. Ahh well, I am what I am (said Popeye the sailor man).

It's nice to hear about snow for those of us who don't get to see it anymore.

This isn't old people talk. Cheese is very exciting and snow in a place I don't live is exciting news too. :) Glad to hear you are comfortable driving in it. I am freaked out just hearing about it :)
