The Wall...

While I was trying to decide which task to undertake over the weekend I looked at the extension ladder that is STILL on the stairwell to the basement, because I STILL have two more frames to fill with photos to complete the photo wall. So, after putting off any number of other “things’ that needed doing, I sat down to find the “perfect” photos.
I DO have a LOT of photos. The problem is there are so many, in so many different areas; on flash drives, CD’s, hard drives, removable hard drives and yes, quite a few on soon to be completely extinct 3 ½” floppy disks. I’m afraid that the ones on the floppy disks are not suitable for enlarging – not enough dpi… Ah well. Anyway, the pic that I’m posting is of what is currently on the wall with fake photos inserted into the two large frames.

I want the wall to be interesting to look at and to showcase things that we love about the great outdoors. I got started with the butterfly displays I found in a second hand store and the three “Shelley” bowls, made by a close friend of Kelsey's. I built up the rest from there. There are stories behind most of the items on display: the seashell, the mossy stick, and the photos themselves are from places we have been and things we have done. The clock, well, I thought it tied it all together. Special kudos go out to my Celiac Sis who helped me to rearrange said items "numerous" times on the floor until we came up with the award winning combo shown :0)
Now I just have to actually get the actual photos enlarged and printed out to go into the large frames. In reality they only have the lovely inserts that came with the frames… Not “exactly” what I had in mind for the finished look.

Your wall looks great. I really like the pictures that are in the frames now.... The arrangement is perfect and I love the bowls placed like that. Also I would love to hear the stories of all the items on the wall. That is a great conversation starter. Nice work!

That wall looks really nice. You're so artistic! Guess I'll see the new look of your place around Christmas time. I'm sure Dominik will find plenty of things to get into. =0)

I like the W on the wall "Go Huskies" (I DO know what the W is for but just couldn't help myself.) Looks mighty nice. Can't wait to see it in person.

Yeah...... that wall is good.
I picked out some pics for you last night. Hopefully will get the cd in the mail before I completely forget what I'm supposed to be doing.

I think I'm sending way more than you may have wanted.
Your house feels soo much different now. Open, light, and oh so lovely.
(hmmm not that it wasn't lovely before... but you know!)
