Action Packed Day

I love that Miss Chloe still twirls her hair when she is tired or taking a bottle. She is like a little princess in that she won't hold her own bottle because she has to be rubbing her hair. She's done that pretty much since she was born. She did pretty darn well today. We started off with a two hour trip to the doctor's office for the ultrasound. She tolerated being held and juggled the entire time without throwing a fit. It was pretty emotionalfor me being there to see the baby moving around. Ultrasounds have come a long way since I had them way back in the day. You could see the four valves of the babies heart, see all her little toes, fingers, her mouth, her tummy. That's right, Chloe is going to have a little sister the end of September, 1st of October. The technician was really good. He told us the sex within 30 seconds of putting the goo on Kelsey's tummy. He also told Kelsey to think of a food she liked and a second or two later we could see her smacking her lips - the baby not Kelsey:0) I'm not sure if there is some connections between Kelsey's thought process or just that babies tend to smack their lips every couple of seconds. Either way it was pretty neat.
In the afternoon we decided it might be a good day to try the aquarium as it was a little overcast and not a weekend. When Chloe woke up from her brief nap we packed up and went. There weren't big crowds but as we were sitting out in the pen watching the new bird show (I know, who knew there would be a bird show at the aquarium?) I felt like I was back in Hong Kong. My glasses were steaming up and it was so hot and humid my clothes were drenched. Yeah, I know nice visual image. The show was fun but I was glad to get inside for a little air conditioning.

Once inside one of the first displays was one of my favorites. It was in a darkened room and the tank was filled with glowing jelly fish. They looked like something from outer space.

Chloe did pretty well at the aquarium too. Even though she was tired she never really pitched a fit. By the time we had been there about an hour or so she was in full thumb sucking, hair stroking mode. When we went into the under side of the dolphin tank there was a guy playing an acoustic guitar and singing. It was really lovely and she mellowed right out. We stayed until a big group came in with some noisy kids and decided that was about it for the day.

When we got home we found Miguel and the neighbor working on installing a new door into the kitchen. It has windows on the upper half and will let in a lot more light making it feel even roomier. We got dinner from "Whataburger" which apparently originated right here in Corpus. Then we watched "Stranger Than Fiction", which is a great movie by the way.
So...not really a funny, or especially entertaining post - but it was a good day. It's lovely to be here and spend time with Kelsey and Chloe. Kelsey is a wonderful mom and quite an amazing person. Chloe is a sweet natured, adorable heart stealer. It will be hard to leave knowing that I won't get to see them again for a long time. I'm really grateful that I got to be here and see Chloe at this age.

Hey, I have to see if my new kitty in a toilet photo shows up, so I'm leaving a comment. Plus, it was great having you here, just in case I never told you :)
