I have a magnet on my fridge that says "I try to take one day at a time but lately several days have attacked me at once." The last week felt a little more like a month crammed into one day. It wasn't any one thing in particular just the combination of a lot of little things that together combined to make it feel like I was trying to swim to the surface from the bottom of a swimming pool of mostly set jello - and I'm not a great swimmer. Yeah, something like that. I know part of it is that it is coming up on the end of the school year and there is always a lot going on. Getting ready for three seperate art shows in less than two weeks didn't help much either. Our last one was on Friday and it was a smashing success - or perhaps I should say "Flying success", as by the end of the day the wind had picked up and it started to catch the pictures and blow them off the peg boards and across the lawn. It was an unseasonalby warm day and what with running up and down the 3 flights of stairs to my room and back I got pretty warm. Basically like on constant hot flash the entire day. Nice.
Today was a bit better. Chuck and I got up and went for a walk. The weather was perfect and then we went into town to run errands. He bought us a very nice laser printer as our inkjet will no longer print red, as we found out after buying two sets of refills. Yeah. I'm excited about it. We moved the piano out of the bedroom (no small feat that!) and moved the computer area and rearranged it. We brought up the gigantic monitor from the basement only to find that the cable from the computer to the monitor was missing(I'm sure it's with the missing watercolor, someplace special). We couldn't use the one from the small monitor as it is not detachable.
So, when I went back into town to go to a wedding reception and graduation celebration I went to pick one up. Well, Fred Meyer does not carry VGA cables (I had to call Tyson to find out what to ask for), the Radio Shack by FM was closed. So, I had to drive to the mall. It was one of those times when everyone seemed to be going really, really slow and I wanted to ram them. They did have a "super" VGA connector and I suppose the super referred to the price of $21. But once I finished the reception and grad party I took the long way home over Buckskin and Hoot Owl (boy, I DO live in a "rustic" sounding area eh?) Anyway, it was really green and lovely and helped calm me down quite a bit. I didn't have my camera so you'll just have to imagine how pretty it was. I do feel better now though....
